How do I choose a plan that's right for me?
There are several plans to choose from and the
plan that is right for you depends on some variables
such as how frequently you plan on using your
phone and where you plan on using your phone. There
are also some other options you can add to your calling
plan if you plan on using your phone to send text or
picture messages, download music, or connect to your
computer. At Cellular Communications we will
work with you to help you select the best plan
to meet all your needs.
How do I choose the right phone for me?
There
are several phones currently available and the
phone that is right for you depends on what you
want to use your new phone for. Do you just want
to make and receive calls? Do you want to take
pictures or listen to music? Do you want to receive
your e-mails on your phone? At Cellular Communications,
we have a wide variety of phones that will meet your
needs. Let one of our experienced sales representatives
help you in selecting the phone that is right
for you.
How do I know how many minutes I have
left at any given time during the month?
From
your phone dial # + MIN (646) + Send and a free
text message will be sent to your phone telling
you your estimated minutes used since your last
billing period. You also will have the option to have
your total Family SharePlan minute usage sent
to your phone in a second free text message if you
want to see how many minutes have been used in your
Family SharePlan since your last billing period. You
also have the option to log onto your account
online to view your usage throughout your billing
period.
Can I have more than one phone on the same plan?
Yes
- Verizon Wireless’s America’s Choice Family
SharePlans allow you to have a total of 5 separate
lines on your account that will share the minutes
on the calling plan.
What does it mean to be roaming
or on an extended network?
If you see “Roaming”
on your phone, you are using another carriers tower
other than Verizon Wireless and you could incur
roaming charges on your next bill. If
you see “Extended Network” on your phone, you are using
another carriers tower other than Verizon Wireless
but you will not incur roaming charges as Verizon Wireless
has agreements with the other carrier. In an
Extended Network area some of your features may
not work (such as receiving voice mail notifications
or text messages) until you get back in a Verizon
Wireless network.
With Verizon Wireless’s new America’s Choice calling
plans there is NO ROAMING wherever you travel
in the United States – so you do not need to worry
about incurring unwanted roaming charges.
With the
exception of my basic plan charges, what other
fees may I see on my monthly bill?
Other than
your basic plan charges, you will see certain taxes,
surcharges and assessments. Verizon
Wireless is required by law to charge you certain
taxes, surcharges and assessments as mandated by
the FCC, Federal, State, or local authorities. You
could also see overage charges if you go over your
allotted plans anytime minutes.
Some other charges that people may see on their
bills are if you used your phone to send/receive text
or picture messages. If you do not have a text
or picture messaging package on your account you pay
for these on a pay-as-you-go basis.
If you have any questions regarding something
that is on your bill, please bring it by one
of our convenient locations and we will work with you
to help you understand your bill.
What do I do if my
phone stops working?
There could be several reasons
on why your phone may have stopped working. If
your phone stops working, give us a call or stop
by one of our convenient locations and we will help
diagnose why your phone is not working and assist you
in getting up and running as soon as possible.
Can I
ever change my plan?
Yes - You have the option to
change any qualifying calling plan or airtime promotion
at any time. You won't pay any additional fees to change
to any qualifying calling plan or airtime promotion.
Some calling plans require specific equipment. Calling
plan changes and promotional offers will require a new
1 or 2 year customer agreement. If you need to
change your calling plan, stop by one of our locations
and we will assist you in changing your plan.
Can
I connect my phone to my computer?
Yes - There are
several phones that allow you to connect or “tether”
your phone to your computer via a data cable. This
will allow you to use your phone as a modem to connect
to the Internet. This
would allow you to connect to the Internet while
you are on the go and in one of Verizon Wireless’s
National Enhanced Service Areas. You will need
to purchase some additional software and a cable to
connect to your computer. You may also need to
add some additional data features to your basic calling
plan in order to connect your phone to your computer.
